During a visit to the Central Coast, we came to the Reef for a week day lunch. The restaurant provides a beautiful view (if you make a reservation, be sure to ask for a water view) and even had binoculars on the table! Lunch was excellent-- three of us had the strip steak and one of us had the beef cheek-- as were the drinks (I recommend the gingerbread espresso martini).
I am docking one star for the wait time as our mains took forever to come out (literally one hour after seating.)
Ultimately, this was a delicious meal with a great view, but the wait time was pretty ridiculous. -

Well, high expectations will definitely be crushed. After being told about the place, me and my love decided to attend. Service was very impersonal - bunch of robots walking around, seats were not really comfy and we were sat were we didn't have a view of the water without seeming like we were staring at another couple.
Food, I am rating it 2 stars, only because the steak was amazing. gnocchi was a disgrace and I have no idea what they were trying to achieve by putting the crust on top of the steak, it really ruined it. The flavours on the plates didn't go well together at all. They tried to make a fancy steak and mash that turned out horrible. -

Absolutely awesome lunch today. Started with ciabatta bread and olives. Had soft shell crab and Vietnamese salad (reminded me of dining in Thailand). For mains wife had ricotta sage gnocchi and I had aged beef fillet (was cooked to perfection) with side of Parmesan beer battered chips which were delicious. Highly recommend, great views of waterfront and exceptional food. Will definitely dine again.

I have eaten here a few times now and it never fails to impress me. The food is varied and excellent matched with first class service and wine list. I can highly recommend Reef Restaurant.
